Other things..
I hope if you have read about each other the pieces I have made you will have noticed a couple of recurring themes.
One is that I love charity shops, Ebay, boot sales, flee markets and just random junk I come across in the shed or on the street. These present themselves and often do so with a strong sense of what they should be or want to be - even if I have no idea what they are.
I have also been very lucky in chancing upon things, especially the calibration set I used for the Steam Glock, finding the Blunderbuss only minutes after it had arrived in the shop, finding exactly the right sized brass candle holder to fit the Kodak lens and magnifier for the Steam Master's goggles. And I have to give huge credit to Lady Nikki who often comes up with off the cuff but brilliant inspirational ideas.

The Teddynator
Spring Heeled Teddy |
The concept of the Teddynator came from a couple of conversations between Nikki and I. The original idea was a Steampunk inspired Frankenteddy, a half doll, half teddy monster, but when I started this one seemed to evolve into something else. As it progressed it was obvious that it was more Terminator than Frankenstein, and so, like with all good art I let him progress into what it wanted to be. The final piece is Arnie "The Teddynator," a Steampunk cyborg teddy, that stands protectively clutching a doll, over the fallen figure of an evil looking, hammer wielding, Gingerbread Man. The figures are made from a fine air-drying clay, brought from Hobby Craft, the mechanisms are mainly watch parts and springs. The gun is mainly a small drone motor. In the pictures you can see that the doll Arnie is clutching went through considerable changes. The Gingerbread Man was remade twice before it looked convincing enough. (Sold) Following on from the theme I intend to produce several of these Steampunk Teddies; Frankenteddy, Spring Heeled Teddy, etc. |

Out the smog choked back alleys of Victorian London a strange figure appears... terrorising the unsuspecting, leaping buildings in a single bound, and spreading mayhem and terror in his wake. Ladies and gentlemen... may I present; Spring Heeled Teddy...
